Our first meeting is just a week away and people are signing up to the newsletter daily and I am still thinking which email service to use, Awebber is the best at collecting the info but there are so many better at sending it out.
The contest is between Mad mimi and Iconntact and both are very good, mail chimp is also good and worth a look.
I found this nice software that sends you tweets, updates to linkedin and 38 other sites all in one go. They give you a free trial
but then send you nagging pop ups every day asking you to buy, buy, buy and I sent them this message
You product has a very short lifespan in the days of social media as other products are about to come out, so why do you try to piss people off with pop ups? it is poor marketing and not what I want.You idea is excellent but your execution is poor.
Let people try the product for a few weeks first, then do a survey on the product and let people like your product, if the pop ups continue I will choose to tell my many group members to give this product a wide birth.

Who do you use?
with so many companies offering email auto responders and email it is hard to find one that will fit with your company
I tried Constant Contact, Mad Mimi,and so many more and at the end decided on AWebber after all they have been doing it for years and they have a very good track record.
That said they look at every list you import to their system and that is good as it keeps out spam from going to the wrong person.AWebber are not the cheapest and their templates are not the best, but they are 100% on service with a call to my mobile the day I set up my account asking if I had any questions.
Another busy week for Captin Pugwash (me)
I went to the South Wales Business Show and felt sorry for the stand holders who were talking to each other and trying to sell to each other.There was no buzz to the show in my opinion and a clear lack of advertising with no signs on the road leading to the venue, The RAC and AA will place temporary signs on the roads leading to any event for a reasonable fee.
This is the second such show by this organiser and it makes me think she is having a try but with little marketing and a clear lack of support from Cardiff City Council.
One Big Network is growing with a new group started in West Wales and the first "Face to Face for a Fiver" in early July
means all the stops are out and popularity for the groups is increasing.
Its nice to see the Cardiff group building so fast as it is the capital of Wales. I have been asked to start a Liverpool group
and I will start the Linkedin group this week and see how big it will get.I have not started a facebook page as yet but will be doing so soon and this should bring in more business people although Facebook is more b2c than b2b.
It takes time to find the right location and one that will work with you to make a networking meeting a success and I have found another venue with outstanding facilities who are pleased to work with One Big Network.
Good business people will see what we are trying to do, and help us achieve it as they know how their venue will thrive with free word of mouth marketing from business net workers.
When I first looked at holding business meetings I thought the venue`s that I looked at would hire the room for free and we would just pay for the tea and coffee....I was wrong! everyone wants hard cash and so I will have to charge £5,00 each to cover the costs. I wish I had my own venue and would conduct all meetings free just for the good of business in Wales
